Ally Brooke's Lips Don't Lie

Ally Brooke's Lips Don't Lie

Since girl group Fifth Harmony split in 2018, former member Ally Brooke Hernandez has released two singles, and both of them are definite bops. On May 24th 2019 the newly solo Hernandez dropped a music video along with her latest single, “Lips Don't Lie.” This single comes just four months after her debut solo single “Low Key” which premiered earlier this year in January. If you haven't listened to either of these songs, I recommend you do so immediately. Hit pause on your reading, go watch the music videos, and then come back to see what I have to say.

Anyone familiar with Fifth Harmony will already know that all five original members have incredible vocal talent, and both of Ally Brooke's latest singles perfectly showcase her abilities. In her debut single “Low Key,” she teams up with Tyga for a track about flirting and getting to know someone. Hernandez sings lyrics such as “low key, low key you should really get to know me” in a sultry alto tone, captivating listeners with her rich, soulful voice. In the music video you can see her showing off both her acting and dancing skills.

If you're a fan of lipgloss, you're going to love Ally's music video for her most recent single, “Lips Don't Lie.” The majority of the video is close up shots of her lips sporting an array of different styles and colors of gloss as she sings along to the song. The style works well with the vibe of the track, and each shade is more flawless than the last. “Lips Don't Lie” features a rap break about a relationship gone wrong from artist A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. Hernandez's voice is a bit more light and airy on this track, but it's just as rich and soulful as “Low Key.” With lyrics such as “met you at 12, dance until 1” it's the perfect low key (no pun intended) summer jam.

If you're like me and hearing these first two singles has made you want more, you're in luck because Ally Brooke will be releasing her first solo album some time in 2019. As of yet, no release date has been set, but it's for sure going to drop some time over the next seven months. And that's not all she has in store for fans this year. In September, the girl group Little Mix will be heading out on a world tour, and it's been rumored that Hernandez will be their opening act. It hasn't yet been confirmed, only teased, but it's a definite possibility. Her own manager liked a series of tweets regarding the topic. I don't know about you, but I'd consider this to be a majorly exciting development. Ally Brooke on the same tour as Little Mix would be epic. From her first two singles, to the promise of a full length album and the possibility of a tour, I can't wait to see what's to come in her career.
